Abstract
The experimental results obtained by Fe-57 conversion electron Mossbau er spectroscopy on the electronic configuration of Fe in beta-FeSi2 ar e discussed in the light of ab initio full-potential linear muffin-tin orbital calculations of the isomer shift delta, quadrupole splitting Delta and asymmetry parameter eta for the two Fe sites.
