Abstract
We present a new operative procedure using the Cotrel-Dubousset (C-D) instrumentation in unstable sacral fractures, where the vertebral colu mn is dissociated from the pelvis. This technique is based on screw fi xation in the ileum and in the first sacral and the fifth lumbar verte brae or the fifth and fourth lumbar vertebrae, with help of interconne cting rods. 3 patients were successfully treated.
