Abstract
Conflicting literature reports dealing with the stereochemistry of the cyclohexanone formed from the Michael reaction of dibenzalacetone wit h dimethyl malonate have been resolved by X-ray structure analysis. Th e compound is the trans isomer with a twist conformation. (C) 1997 Els evier Science Ltd.
