Abstract
The magnesium bromide diethyl etherate (MgBr2 . OEt(2))-methyl sulfide (Me(2)S) system is useful for the mild and chemo-selective deprotecti on of p-methoxybenzyl (PMB) ether in the presence of 1,3-diene, t-buty ldimethylsilyl (TBDMS) ether, benzoate, benzyl ether and acetonide.
