G. Sutedja et al., HIGH-DOSE-RATE BRACHYTHERAPY HAS A CURATIVE POTENTIAL IN PATIENTS WITH INTRALUMINAL SQUAMOUS-CELL LUNG-CANCER, Respiration, 61(3), 1994, pp. 167-168
Two patients presented with intraluminal T1NO squamous cell lung cance
r. Poor lung function precluded surgical resection and/or external rad
iotherapy. They were treated up to 3 times with high-dose rate brachyt
herapy (10 Gy at 1 cm each session) with curative intent. Follow-up ha
s been 54 and 25 months. Brachytherapy is an effective and well-tolera
ted bronchoscopic treatment alternative with a curative potential in p
atients with small T1NO intraluminal lung cancer.
