Abstract
This paper reports an experimental investigation on the effects of usi ng a solar augmentation system, which consists of an inverted solar co llector and a cross linked polyethylene heat exchanger on the characte ristics of Carnalite solar ponds. It was found that the solar augmenta tion system increases the temperature of the storage zone with no effe cts on the stability of the pond. Furthermore, it was found that the s olar pond adjusts itself during the night when there is no augmentatio n from the system. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
