An analysis is presented for the steady state boundary layer dow and h
eat transfer of a micropolar fluid in the vicinity of an axisymmetric
stagnation point on a cylinder. The governing momentum, angular moment
um and heat transfer equations have been solved numerically using a pr
ocedure based on an expansion of Chebyshev polynomials approximation.
Missing values of the velocity, microrotation function and heat transf
er are illustrated for a range of values of material parameters and Re
ynolds numbers. The results have been compared with the results of the
corresponding flow of a Newtonian fluid. It is observed that micropol
ar fluids display drag reduction when compared to Newtonian fluids.
