We study the time evolution of the deformed Jaynes-Cummings model (DJC
M). It is shown that the standard JCM and its recent non-linear genera
lizations involving the intensity-dependent coupling and/or the multip
hoton coupling are only particular cases of the DJCM. The time evoluti
on of the mean phonon number and the population inversion are evaluate
d. A special case of the q-deformed JCM is analyzed explicitly. The lo
ng time quasi-periodic revival effects of the q-deformed JCM are obser
ved for q almost-equal-to 1 and an initially large mean photon number.
For other values of the deformation parameter q we observe chaotic-li
ke behaviour of the population inversion. Photons are assumed to be in
itially in the deformed coherent state.
