A detailed spectroscopic investigation of ZBLAN:Er3+ sample was perfor
med. Infrared to green, red to blue and blue to ultraviolet energy upc
onversion studies in this material were also performed. When the mater
ial was pumped with a 637 nm dye laser upconversion signals at 402 nm,
whose efficiency is similar to 0.04%, were detected. Intensity parame
ters, transition probabilities, lifetimes and quantum efficiencies are
also obtained.
