Abstract
The QCM is a mass sensitive principle which is widely used for thickne ss monitoring or gas analysis. Applications in the field of analyte de tection in liquids are rather rare. Our paper shows some theoretical a spects of the impedance behaviour of a quartz. It illustrates a specia l series oscillator for QCM sensors in different liquids. Furthermore we describe our first experimental results for the detection of small amounts of polar compounds in hexane and tensids in water.
