Mv. Enzien et al., REDUCTIVE DECHLORINATION OF TRICHLOROETHYLENE AND TETRACHLOROETHYLENEUNDER AEROBIC CONDITIONS IN A SEDIMENT COLUMN, Applied and environmental microbiology, 60(6), 1994, pp. 2200-2204
Biodegradation of trichloroethylene and tetrachloroethylene under aero
bic conditions was studied in a sediment column. Cumulative mass balan
ces indicated 87 and 90% removal for trichloroethylene and tetrachloro
ethylene, respectively. These studies suggest the potential for simult
aneous aerobic and anaerobic biotransformation processes under bulk ae
robic conditions.
