Pp. Abraham et al., AN OUTCOME STUDY - CHANGES IN RORSCHACH VARIABLES OF ADOLESCENTS IN RESIDENTIAL-TREATMENT, Journal of personality assessment, 62(3), 1994, pp. 505-514
Admission Rorschach variables were compared to 2-year reevaluation res
ponses of adolescents (n = 50) in residential treatment using Weiner a
nd Exner's (1991) 27 structural variables. Fifty adolescents who had p
reviously failed to improve in outpatient treatment and multiple hospi
talizations were subsequently placed in residential treatment. Followi
ng 2 years of residential treatment, they showed positive personality
changes as indicated by a reduction in Rorschach indices of impaired f
unctioning. Positive treatment changes in interpersonal awareness were
discussed utilizing a social identification index formulated for this
population. Results indicate the utility of the Rorschach test-retest
method of assessing treatment outcome.
