Ce. Wozny et al., THE EXISTENCE OF NONLINEAR RESONANCES IN COLLECTIVE MODES OF LINEAR MACROMOLECULES, The Journal of chemical physics, 100(11), 1994, pp. 8540-8541
A Lissajous figure and surfaces of section are presented which show a
4:7 nonlinear resonance between two selectively excited coordinates of
a system containing 900 degrees of freedom. The significance of this
work is, first, plots of this nature have never before been constructe
d for a multidimensional system this large; and second, the nonlinear
resonance exists between two collective modes of the linear macromolec
ule.
