Abstract
Nitration of cycloheptatriene by copper nitrate in acetic anhydride gi ves 1-nitrocycloheptatriene and subsequent nitration by nitric acid gi ves 1,6-dinitrocycloheptatriene; the crystal structure of the dinitro- derivative is described.
