Abstract
Antibody to hepatitis C virus (anti-HCV) was found to be an independen t risk factor for hepatocellular carcinoma and raised serum cc-fetopro tein (AFP) level. In addition, the frequency of raised AFP in patients with anti-HCV was higher than in those without (91.5% vs 65.2%, P = 0 .0001).
