Ischemic spinal lesions following graft replacement of an infrarenal a
ortic aneurysm are rare complications. Even more rare ist the developm
ent of this complication in case of aortoiliac occlusive disease. We r
eport one further case who developed transient paraplegia following si
gma resection six years after implantation of an aortobifemoral bifurc
ation graft because of aortoiliac occlusive disease. The abdominal ves
sel and the collateral situation of this site of the caudal aorta is d
iscussed and the possibility of late ischemic spinal lesions is pointe
d out.
