Abstract
Organometallic tin halides R(2)SnCl(2) (R = {Cp(CO)(2)Fe}, {Cp(CO)(3)M o}) react with Te(SiMe(3))(2) to form the compounds [(Cp{CO)(2)Fe}4Sn2 Te2] 1, [{Cp(CO)(3)Mo}4Sn2Te2] 2 and [{Cp(CO)(3)Mo}4Sn4Te6] 3. Accordi ng to crystal structure determinations, 1 and 2 contain planar Sn2Te2 rings. 3 consists of an adamantane-like Sn4Te6 framework.
