The formation constant of the complex of Ag(I) with 8,11-tetramethyl-1
,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane (TMTACT), log beta = 14.20, and the e
quilibrium constants of Ag(I) ions disproportionation in the presence
of TMTACT - log K(d) = 17.04, 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane (TACT)
- log K(d) = 19.41, and 1,4,8,12-tetraazacyclopentadecane (TACP) - lo
g K(d) = 20.09, in propylene carbonate were determined by potentiometr
y. Complexes of Ag(II) with these amines were separated and characteri
zed by spectrophotometry. The mechanism of the electrode processes tak
ing place in propylene carbonate solutions of the Ag(II) complexes wer
e determined by voltammetric methods and the resultant redox systems w
ere identified.
