Abstract
Mechanisms of the growth of conversion films from various environments in the course of the chemical oxidation of aluminum alloy surface are determined. The results obtained and the procedure developed are show n to be useful for adjusting the chromating process, and for the devel opment of new chromating prescriptions as well as choice of methods fo r pre-chromating metal-surface treatment.
