Lm. Dabiri et al., EFFECTIVENESS OF VITAMIN-E FOR TREATMENT OF LONG-TERM TARDIVE-DYSKINESIA, The American journal of psychiatry, 151(6), 1994, pp. 925-926
Eleven patients with tardive dyskinesia were treated in a double-blind
study of vitamin E or placebo for 12 weeks. Abnormal Involuntary Move
ment Scale (AIMS) ratings were performed before and after treatment. P
atients receiving vitamin E showed a significant reduction in their AI
MS scale score, but patients receiving Placebo showed no significant c
hange. Vitamin E had a helpful effect evert for patients whose tardive
dyskinesia was mild and long-term.
