Abstract
Modifications of elemental composition of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+x singlecrysta lline surface under medium energy (3keV) electron irradiation have bee n investigated by AES. The doses reached 10(3)C/cm2. It is shown, that electron bombardment leads to dissociation of the target material, di splaying in the decrease of Bi content and increase of Sr, Cu and Ca o nes. This effect is principally unthermal and explained in terms of Bi -O bond disruption in the upper layer of a crystal.
