Tv. Korolyuk et Hv. Shcherbenko, COMPILING SOIL MAPS ON THE BASIS OF REMOTELY-SENSED DATA DIGITAL PROCESSING - SOIL INTERPRETATION, International journal of remote sensing, 15(7), 1994, pp. 1379-1400
A method for compiling soil maps from the results of digital processin
g of remotely-sensed data is presented. The method is based on graphic
analysis of mean digital values of clusters in the green-red and (gre
en-red)-(NIR-red) projections in conjunction with visual analysis of t
he cluster map and spectral curves and their interpretation on the bas
is of thematic maps and ground data. The proposed technique allows int
erpretation of the soil types of arable lands with 50 per cent vegetat
ion density and differentiation of the soils with regard to their wate
r regime. The accuracy of the resulting soil map was evaluated as 0.82
.
