M. Georgesco et al., SOMATOSENSORY-EVOKED POTENTIALS IN AMYOTR OPHIC-LATERAL-SCLEROSIS ANDPRIMARY LATERAL SCLEROSIS, Revue neurologique, 150(4), 1994, pp. 292-298
Somatosensory evoked potentials (SEPs) were studied in 21 cases of amy
otrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and 7 cases of primary lateral sclero
sis (PLS). Despite the lack of clinical sensory abnormalities, SEPs sh
owed abnormalities in both diseases: lack or delay of some components.
In ALS these abnormalities indicate widespread sensory disturbance. I
n PLS only, the Brodmann area 4 seems to be affected.
