Abstract
SEMPA observations of magnetic exchange coupling in the Fe/Ag/Fe, Fe/A u/Fe, and Fe/Cr/Fe systems reveal an intensity variation in the emitte d secondary electron signal that depends only on whether the Fe layers are coupled in a ferromagnetic or antiferromagnetic sense. We ascribe this new effect to spin dependence in the transport of electrons betw een the two magnetic layers.
