Abstract
Cr100-xFex amorphous alloys have been prepared through two different r outes: thermal coevaporation and mechanical milling. The Mossbauer mea surements on the materials show that the amorphization leads to a dram atic reduction of Fe magnetic moment as compared to the crystalline bu lk samples. On the other hand, the magnetic ac susceptibility and the magnetization measurements indicate a dominant ferromagnetic intraclus ter interaction with a competing intercluster interaction. Such a comp etition could give rise to a spin-glass-like behavior.
