We have prepared granular films of Fe (36 at. %)-Mg (64 at. %) and mea
sured the magnetization, resistance, and thermopower as a function of
the applied magnetic field at temperatures between 300 and 6 K. The as
-prepared sample has a magnetoresistance ratio (DELTAR/R(max)) of -6.3
% in a field of 5.5 T at 6 K. The samples were annealed at temperature
s between 150-degrees-C and 228-degrees-C for one hour. The MR does no
t vary as the square of the magnetization, as predicted by theory. We
attribute this to a particle size distribution effect.
