Abstract
Three cases of brain abscess at the site of an intracerebral hematoma after an interval of several weeks are reported. Surgical drainage imm ediately improved clinical manifestations. Only one similar case has b een reported in the literature. This complication should be routinely looked for in patients at increased risk of immune deficiency (alcohol abuse, corticosteroid therapy, admission to a neurosurgical intensive care unit).
