Abstract
A 25-year-old Japanese woman had both ulcerative colitis and Takavasu' s disease and was positive for HLA-A24, BW52, and DR2. She was found t o have thickening of the wall of the carotid artery on contrast-enhanc ed computerized tomography of the neck and chest. Prednisolone, berapr ost, and sulfapyridine achieved rapid remission of both diseases.
