Abstract
The crystal structure of the nitridophosphate Na3AlP3O9N has been dete rmined from single crystal data. The unit cell is cubic [space group P 2(1)3 (Z = 4)] with a = 9.274(1) angstrom. Nitrogen is bonded to three tetrahedral phosphorus atoms, thus forming N(PO3)3 groups around octa hedral aluminum atoms. The structure of Na3AlP3O9N can be compared to that of the langbeinite K2Mg2(SO4)3.
