Abstract
The Pb(PO3)2-RbPO3 phase-equilibrium diagram has been established by D TA. PbRb(PO3)3, the only intermediate compound observed in this system , is a long-chain polyphosphate. This salt is monoclinic, P2(1)/n, wit h Z = 8 and the following unit-cell dimensions : a = 14.05(3), b = 17. 09(4), c = 7.228(3) angstrom, beta = 103.85(5)-degrees The atomic arra ngement is mainly characterized by infinite (PO3)n chains running alon g the b direction with a period of twelve tetrahedra.
