Abstract
Data from a Brewer spectrophotometer are used to calculate the vertica l dispersion parameters of Gaussian and non-Gaussian plumes from eleva ted point sources in the industrial area of Thessaloniki. Using Gaussi an, non-Gaussian and numerical grid (box) air pollution models, the es timation of vertical spread and plume rise from tall stacks can be obt ained from combined columnar and ground-level concentrations.
