V. Pelosin et al., MAGNETOELASTICITY AND THE EFFECT OF INTERNAL-STRESSES IN AGNI MULTILAYERS, Journal of magnetism and magnetic materials, 134(1), 1994, pp. 79-87
We evidenced substantial modulus and damping effects of magnetomechani
cal origin in a series of AgNi multilayer films, with use of a vibrati
ng composite reed system. From detailed analysis, it is concluded that
they are primarily linked to the reversible motion of the domain wall
s. Measurements performed after various thermal treatments revealed dr
astic changes in the magnitude of the magnetoelastic effects studied.
It is shown that these modifications mostly originate in the developme
nt or relief of biaxial stresses generated thermoelastically or result
ing from a microstructural evolution of these layered structures on an
nealing.
