The Sm-147 Sm and Sm-149 NMR spin echo spectra of Sm2Fe17Nx (x=0, 0.4,
1.2, 2) series at 4.2 K are presented. The observed quadrupole septet
s are assigned to the 6c site of Sm with a different number of neighbo
uring N atoms. From the quadrupole splittings the values of the lattic
e contribution to the electric field gradient are obtained. On this ba
sis the values of the crystal electric field coefficient A2(0) for dif
ferent numbers of N neighbours are derived.
