Abstract
This paper describes the Ontario Ministry of Housing's effort to provi de permanent, adequate, and affordable housing for persons with mental illness. The Ministry's approach is part of a continuum of housing op tions independent of program requirements. Integration of mental healt h consumers into housing communities is through the aid of the Ministr y's senior advisor of mental health, who is responsible for policy, pr ogram, training, and partnership initiatives to develop and maintain h ousing for this group.
