Abstract
The resurgence of tuberculosis has been accompanied by outbreaks of di sease caused by multiply resistant strains of Mycobacterium tuberculos is. Effective control of these multiply drug-resistant strains require s early identification, more effective treatment regimens, and disrupt ion of the chain of transmission in hospitalized and other high-risk p atient cohorts.
