Abstract
The distributions of reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phospha te-diaphorase (NADPH-d) and nitric oxide synthase (NOS) containing neu rons and the extent of NADPH-d and NOS colocalization have been analyz ed by histochemical and immunocytochemical techniques in the neocortex of Macaca fuscata monkeys. NADPH-d positive cells were consistently a lso NOS positive and presented a relatively uniform distribution from area to area, but area-specific differences were observed in the patte rn of distribution of fiber plexuses.
