The activation time of the hydrogen absorption from the gas phase was
investigated for melt-quenched ZrxNi100-x amorphous alloys by thermoel
ectric power (TEP) and weighing as a function of the Zr content, the c
harging temperature, the H-2 gas pressure and surface Ni-plating. Some
conclusions concerning the separation of the activation into surface
and bulk processes can be drawn.
