A study of two-dimensional and dynamic heat and mass transfers during
absorption of hydrogen in a metal-hydrogen reactor is presented in thi
s paper. A mathematical model has been established. The resolution of
the resulting system of equations has been realized numerically by the
method of finite elements. The numerical simulation permitted to repr
esent the time-space evolution of the temperature, the pressure and th
e hydride density in the reactor and also to determine the dependence
on reactor geometry, the inlet pressure and the inlet temperature.
