Abstract
The plasma focus discharge was studied with a specially developed Cauc hois spectrograph and a convex-crystal spectrograph. The presence of a pproximately 1 MeV Ta heavy ions moving toward the cathode was observe d for the device geometry comprising the angle with a conical recess. In the flat anode geometry fast electron beams with E(e) > 60 keV ener gy were observed. The values of T(e) and N(e) in the dense high-temper ature plasma produced during the pinch noncylindrical compression were estimated.
