The Raman spectra of ferroelectric (CH3NH3)3Bi2Br9 single crystals wer
e studied at temperatures from 80 to 300 K and in the wavenumber range
0-300 cm-1. A tentative assignment of the observed bands is proposed.
The phase transitions reported at 188, 140 and 101.5 K influence the
Raman spectra and the observed changes are discussed in terms of the p
ossible mechanisms involved. The lowest phase transition at 101.5 K is
directly connected with instability of the inorganic sublattice.
