CHANGES OF MORBIDITY IN LONG-TERM PATIENT S WITH PSYCHOTIC DISORDERS IN A TIME OF A POLITICAL ALTERATION

The political events during the breakdown of former GDR were also life events with effects on course of disease of psychiatric maintenance p atients. Recurrences in 76 patients with monopolar depressive, bipolar depressive, schizoaffective, and schizophrenic disorders were examine d for three periods with 1 1/2 years at a time. The middle period Z2 w as defined as stress-period with moving political events. The results show more and stronger recurrences in the stress-period in comparison with Z1 and Z3, especially sured in bipolar depressive and schizophren ic patients.
