Callus and cell suspension cultures of Tabebuia aveIlanedae produce pr omising antitumour-promoting furanonaphthoquinones, xy-2-(1-hydroxyeth yl)naphtho[2,3-b]furan-4,9-dione and 2-acetyl-5-hydroxy-naphtho[2,3-]f uran-4,9-dione in high yields.
