Abstract
Variations in electron temperature in a pulsed radio-frequency nitroge n plasma have been investigated with a floating double-Langmuir probe and by laser-induced fluorescence. Observations suggest that the N2(B 3PI(g)) level is populated by excitation from the metastable N2(A 3SIG MA(u)+) level by low-energy electrons.
