(NH3)3[Pd(NH3)4]3Mo7O24 is monoclinic (space group P2(1)/c, Z = 4) wit
h a = 10.658(1)angstrom, b = 20.628(2)angstrom, c = 17.551(2)angstrom
and beta = 113.038(7)degrees. The structure was refined from single cr
ystal data using 4009 independent X-ray reflections to R1 = 0.0364. Th
e crystal structure of (NH3)3[Pd(NH3)4]3Mo7O24 is built up by isolated
PdN4 square planes and [Mo7O24]6- clusters of seven MoO6 octahedra id
entical with those observed in the heptamolybdates of Na+, K+, NH4+ an
d [CH6N3]+.
