Abstract
We developed theoretically and experimentally the principles of a spec troscopical method based on resonance transient population gratings fo r a quantitative description of solvation dynamics of large molecules in liquid solutions. The solvation dynamics of LDS 750 in methanol, 1, 2-ethanediol, 1,3-propanediol and 1,4-butanediol have been measured ov er four time decades from 100 fs to 1000 ps. The solvation dynamics of LDS 750 in all solvents consists of ultrafast as well as slow compone nts.
