Ma. Shehata et F. Hentschel, EFFECT OF CURRENT DISPLACEMENT CONSIDERATION ON THE BEHAVIOR OF INVERTER-FED SQUIRREL-CAGE INDUCTION-MOTORS, Electric machines and power systems, 22(3), 1994, pp. 381-393
A simple induction motor model, which considers the current displaceme
nt in the rectangular rotor bars, is introduced. The deduced different
ial equations are given using space vector representation and the nume
rical method of solution is described briefly. A high power railway pr
opulsion system (Intercity Express ICE drive) was simulated twice, onc
e with and once without current displacement in the motor model. The m
aximum current, current harmonics, torque pulsation and harmonic losse
s were calculated. The obtained results show that current displacement
consideration in the motor model can be significant in some cases.
