The results of chemical reactions in the PbO-B2O3-RuO2 system at vario
us temperatures were studied. According to x-ray diffraction (XRD) and
chemical analysis data, at temperatures up to 973 K Pb2Ru2O7-x is for
med. At higher temperatures this reacts with the lead borate melt to f
orm RuO2; in this case the ratio of the Pb2Ru2O7-x and RuO2 phases at
the same annealing temperature depends on the PbO/B2O3 ratio. The IR d
ata show the structural differences between the glass phase of the com
pounds studied and the structure of glasses with the same PbO/B2O3 rat
io.
