Abstract
With the temperature fluctuation method, the sensible heat flux and fr iction velocity can be evaluated from standard deviation of the temper ature and horizontal wind speed at one level. In principle, for unstab le conditions the governing equations have to be solved by iteration. In this note, an approximate analytic solution is presented. Also, the solution for stable situations is discussed.
