This paper is the summary of a two years experience with the Balint gr
oup of infectologists of the National Institute of Nutrition, ''Salvad
or Zubiran''. These physicians work with HIV/AIDS patients, being our
main goal to understand and promote the coping of the anxieties which
emerge about patients death and fatal illness. We expose here our theo
retical-model based on M. Klein, W.R. Bion, D. Anzieu, Foulkes, Luchin
a and others works. The Balint group definition is: ''An homogeneous g
roup of physicians that teach, learn and investigate about the doctor-
patient relationship''. We see such relation from a psychoanalytical p
oint of view.
