Intra-annual variations of the N2O and CH4 mixing ratios from the SAMS
instrument on the Nimbus-7 satellite are analyzed using special ampli
tude and phase characteristics. Differences of the N2O and CH4 evoluti
on in the annual cycle are noted. Essential interhemispheric differenc
es are noted in the species intra-annual evolution. Asymmetry of the a
nnual cycle is characterized by an interval of increase and an interva
l when the H2O and CH4 mixing ratios exceed the local annual mean valu
es.
